San Diego Unified School District has released a revamped directory of its magnet school programmes, giving families a clearer picture of options for the upcoming 2026-27 academic year. The updated guide, available online and in print at all district libraries, includes two new STEM-focused magnets at Lincoln High and Mira Mesa High, plus an expanded performing arts track at San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts. "We want every family to understand the breadth of choice available to them," said Superintendent Lamont Jackson. "These programmes are a cornerstone of our commitment to equity in education." Enrolment for the magnet programme lottery opens on 15 April and closes on 30 May, with placements announced in late June. The district is also hosting information nights at six regional centres throughout April to help parents navigate the application process.
